Theft of Firearm (Recovered)
On March 30, 2025, at approximately 8:45 PM, officers from the Janesville Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of North River Street in response to a recently occurred theft. A witness provided a description of an individual suspected of stealing a firearm from an unlocked vehicle.
Officers arrived at the scene, established a perimeter, and initiated a K9 track. While checking the area, an officer located a female who matched the suspect's description on North High Street. Probable cause was established, and a search of the female was conducted. The stolen firearm was subsequently found concealed in her clothing. The female was identified as Kimberly K. Heaps, a convicted felon.
Kimberly will be held at the Rock County Jail for charges from this incident.
