Full Notification

On March 29, 2025, at 1 a.m. Deputy Michael Bates conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Toyota Sienna after observing an equipment violation on the vehicle near County Road 800 West and Base Road.  Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Bates identified the driver as 40 year old Kara Owens of Princeton.  While speaking with Ms. Owens Deputy Bates detected the odor of burnt Marijuana and began a roadside drug investigation.  At the conclusion of his investigation he placed Ms. Owens into custody and transported her to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of a Legend Drug, and Neglect of a Dependent. 

30 year old passenger Cody Jenkins also of Princeton was taken into custody at the end of the investigation and he was transported to the Gibson County Jail.  Upon arriving at the jail Mr. Jenkins was charged with Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of Paraphernalia, Neglect of a Dependent, and Possession of a Legend Drug.  
 
Assisting Deputy Bates in his investigation were Deputies U.B. Smith and Diego Ortega.
 
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
