Hawthorne Police Traffic Bureau Advisory – DPW Water Line Replacement on Diamond Bridge Avenue
Dear Residents and Commuters,
Although it’s April Fools’ Day, this is no prank—on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 7:00 AM, the Department of Public Works (DPW) will continue the water line replacement project along Diamond Bridge Avenue, between Lincoln Avenue and Forest Avenue.
To ensure public safety and support traffic flow, road closures, detour signage, cones, and barricades will remain in place for the duration of the project. Police officers will be stationed in the area to manage traffic, maintain work zone safety, and assist parents and students during school arrival and dismissal times.
Drivers are strongly encouraged to plan ahead, avoid the area when possible, and use alternate routes. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to improve critical infrastructure throughout our community.
Your safety remains our top priority. Please stay alert, follow all “Road Closed” signs, detour directions, and traffic control measures, and proceed with caution through the area.
“April Fools’ Day is for pranks—not cones, barricades, and ‘Road Closed’ signs. Unfortunately, we’ve got all three.”
Thank you for your continued patience and support.
