Please be advised, that Coffey Electric, a JIA subcontractor, is scheduled to begin directional boring along the north shoulders of Barron Ln, Bliss Ln, King Ave, Nelson Ln, Dexter Ln, Tyler Ln, and Porter Ln on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The directional boring will facilitate the placement of new water distribution lines that will connect to the Jekyll Island water system at a later date. No water emergencies, outages, or boil water notices are anticipated at this time.
This activity will be within Jekyll Island right-of-way and limited to a small amount of localized excavation. The vast majority of the construction will remain underground and not seen. There should be minimal localized impacts on the road shoulders and minimal impact on traffic flow.
Further information on any future outages or connections to household water meters in these areas will be sent in advance as the construction schedule progresses and will be isolated throughout the project.
