Wilmington Police have arrested a woman in connection to a shots fired incident.
On March 29, at approximately 11:15 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 200 block of East 25th Street, in reference to a shots fired incident with no injuries. Upon arrival, police were provided a description of the suspect, and the suspect’s vehicle. A short time later, police located that vehicle in the 2600 block of Moore Street, where 33-year-old Kiara Brooks was taken into custody without incident.
The case was assigned to Detective Brendan Wham of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Wham confirmed Brooks as a suspect in this incident.
Brooks has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree) – Two Counts
- Conspiracy (First Degree)
- Resisting Arrest
She was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $69,000 cash-only bail.
