Update: Driver Arrested in Two-Vehicle Head-On Crash on Velp Avenue; GBPD Investigates Reckless Driving as Cause
The Green Bay Police Department is investigating reckless driving as the cause of a two-vehicle, head-on crash with injuries on Velp Avenue on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
A 22-year-old Green Bay man, allegedly driving one of the involved vehicles at a high rate of speed, was arrested overnight after being treated for serious injuries. He remains in custody in Brown County Jail.
In addition, the other two seriously injured people remain hospitalized.
We are looking to speak with the driver of a black pickup truck that witnesses claim to have seen in the area at the time of the crash, which occurred just before 7:00 p.m.
The crash temporarily closed a portion of Velp Avenue at Wilson Avenue until approximately 1:45 a.m.
