* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Piatt County in central Illinois... Northwestern Vermilion County in east central Illinois... Champaign County in east central Illinois...

* Until 545 PM CDT.

* At 458 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Farmer City to near Bement, moving northeast at 60 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Severe thunderstorms will be near... Mahomet, Monticello, Seymour, White Heath, and Lake Of The Woods around 505 PM CDT. Champaign and Bondville around 510 PM CDT. Savoy, Willard Airport, and Urbana around 515 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include Rantoul, Thomasboro, St. Joseph and Gifford. This includes the following highways... Interstate 57 between mile markers 223 and 248. Interstate 72 between mile markers 157 and 182. Interstate 74 between mile markers 171 and 205.

Instructions:

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for central and east central Illinois.
