On March 31, 2025, at approximately 12:48 p.m., the Simi Valley Police Department responded to the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue/Fifth Street reference a two-vehicle collision.  Upon arrival of first responders, life saving measure were performed.  However the driver (Nancy Lee-75-year old Simi Valley resident) of one of the vehicles sustained serious injuries that proved to be fatal and was pronounced deceased at Los Robles Hospital. 
According to the initial information and the preliminary investigation, it appears that the vehicle driven by Lee, Eastbound Los Angeles Avenue at Fifth Street, failed to stop for a red light for her direction of travel.  A second vehicle, entering Los Angeles Avenue from Fifth Street, to make a left turn onto Westbound Los Angeles Avenue was struck broadside by Lee’s vehicle, entering the intersection at speed.  Both vehicles sustained major damage because of the collision. 
There was no indication of impairment by either parties.  The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries, was transported to Simi Valley Hospital, and was eventually released.
