Wilmington police have arrested a male juvenile on gun charges.
On March 28, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the area of Girard and Orange Streets, when they observed a male subject acting in a suspicious manner. Police attempted to make contact with the male, who fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, police took a 16-year-old male juvenile into custody without further incident, and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
The 16-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was released on $10,500 secured bail.
