...The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Missouri... Meramec River near Sullivan. Big River at Byrnesville. Meramec River near Steelville. Meramec River near Eureka. Meramec River at Pacific. Meramec River at Valley Park. Bourbeuse River at Union. Meramec River near Arnold. Meramec River at Fenton. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours.
* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Meramec River at Valley Park.
* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 33.0 feet, Old Highway 141 is closed at Gravois Road and at Gravois Bluffs Blvd. This impact level may vary depending on the crest difference of the Mississippi River at St. Louis from 30.8 ft, the March 2008 crest.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 1.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Saturday afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 33.5 feet Tuesday evening. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 33.0 feet on 05/03/1983.
