Streetracer Arrested for Reckless Driving After Crashing His Vehicle into Pole in Rancho Cucamonga

DATE/TIME: April 2, 2025 / 1:48 P.M.

INCIDENT: VC23103(A)- Reckless Driving

LOCATION: Haven Ave. / Civic Center Dr., Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT(S): Jonathan Cuauhtemoc Sanchez, Age 26, Resident of Fontana

VICTIM(S): State of California

SUMMARY: On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at approximately 1:48 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station responded to a call for service regarding a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Haven Avenue and Civic Center Drive in Rancho Cucamonga.

Deputies located a single vehicle that collided with a traffic control light pole. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, later identified as Jonathan Cuauhtemoc Sanchez, was outside the vehicle and did not appear to have injuries. Sanchez was administered medical aid on scene and cleared by medical personnel.

Through investigation, deputies determined Sanchez was street racing with another vehicle southbound on Haven Avenue. Sanchez and a second vehicle were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Haven Avenue. Both vehicles traveled south through the red light at a high rate of speed at Civic Center Drive. Sanchez swerved to avoid colliding with another vehicle, lost control of his vehicle, and collided with the traffic control light pole. Sanchez’s vehicle rolled and landed in an empty dirt field on the southwest corner of the intersection. No other vehicles were involved in the traffic collision.

Sanchez was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for VC23103(A)- Reckless Driving.
