Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, April 9, 2025
- Clinton Avenue between Bergen Street and Badger Avenue
- Hunterdon Street between Madison Avenue and West Bigelow Street
- Peshine Avenue between Madison Avenue and West Bigelow Street
- Jelliff Avenue between Madison Avenue and West Bigelow Street
The food drive begins at 11 a.m. and will be held at Washington Street and West Kinney Street.
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
