Sheriff Clint Roach advised that at 9:19 P.m on 04/04/25 his Office responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of M-51 and M-152 in Silver Creek Township.  The investigation shows that Kerry Darrigan, 70-year-old Decatur resident, was northbound on M-51 when he approached a vehicle that was stopped on M-51 at the intersection with M-152.  This uninvolved vehicle, which did not remain on scene, gave a hand signal for 31-year-old Geneva, Illinois resident Chase Henricks to cross east over M-51 from M-152.  Darrigan passed the stopped vehicle on the right as Henricks was crossing the intersection, resulting in the crash.

Darrigan's passenger, 69-year-old Cathy Darrigan, went by SMCAS to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash.  All parties were wearing their seat-belts.  Sister Lakes Fire Department and Wayne Township Fire Department assisted the Sheriff's Office at the scene.  The incident remains under investigation.
