FFWHUN The National Weather Service in Huntsville has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... Cullman County in north central Alabama... Southeastern Madison County in north central Alabama... Morgan County in north central Alabama... DeKalb County in northeastern Alabama... Southern Jackson County in northeastern Alabama... Marshall County in northeastern Alabama...

* Until 800 AM CDT.

* At 550 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated persistent thunderstorms producing heavy rain extending from Cullman and Morgan counties northeastward into northwestern Georgia and southeastern Tennessee. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.25 to 0.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
