Flood Warning until 10:00AM Monday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Missouri, including the following counties, Cape Girardeau, New Madrid, Scott and Stoddard.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 610 PM CDT, Even though heavy rain has ended, substantial flooding continues across much of the warned area. Between 7 and 13 inches of rain have fallen since the start of the event on Wednesday. Only light drizzle is expected through this evening. - Flooding impacts will continue, but very little additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cape Girardeau, Sikeston, Jackson, Dexter, Scott City, Portageville, New Madrid, Chaffee, Bernie, Bloomfield, Advance, Oran, Lilbourn, Miner, Benton, Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site, Bollinger Mill State Historic Site, Trail Of Tears State Park, Malden and Gideon. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Do not drive around barriers and find alternate routes if flooding is observed.
