* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest North Carolina, including the following counties, Cherokee and Clay.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 733 AM EDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain and minor flooding in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen over the past 24 hours. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Andrews, Murphy, Hayesville, Tusquitee, Brasstown, Marble, Shooting Creek, Topton and Culberson. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
