CAD CALLS: 751
1. Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest (1610) 1200 Block of East Eighth Street, Park District
The female victim, 38, and the male victim, 18, were in the area when the two known suspects began firing guns at each other. No one was injured, and the suspects fled the scene. Officers conducted follow-up and located both suspects. ARRESTED: Lafell White, 54, and Timothy Walker Sr, 44, for assault with a deadly weapon and weapon charges.
2. Weapons Arrest (1645) Hammer Lane and Tam O’Shanter, Valley Oak District
Officers were in the listed area and initiated a proactive traffic enforcement stop on a dirt bike rider. The suspect initially fled but was taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of a loaded gun. ARRESTED: a 16-year-old male for traffic and weapons violations.
3. Resisting Arrest (1921) 6200 Block of North Pershing Avenue, Lakeview District
Officers responded to a possible burglary in progress in the area. Officers contacted the suspect and attempted to detain him. The suspect resisted, and force was required to restrain him. ARRESTED: Louis Thompson, 44, for resisting arrest.
4. Person Stabbed (1956) 00 Block of West Jamestown St, Lakeview District
The male victim, 28, was inside his residence when the known suspect stabbed him with a knife. The victim was treated at the scene for a non-life-threatening injury. The suspect was located and arrested. ARRESTED: Nyeisha Jackson, 28, for assault with a deadly weapon.
5. Person Shot (2125) Bianchi Road and Cotton Court, Valley Oak District
The male victim, 18, was walking in the area when he heard gunshots and realized he was shot. The victim self-transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. There is no suspect information.
6. Pursuit Arrest (0112) Lever Boulevard and Georgia Avenue, Seaport District
Officers responded to a call of a subject who was brandishing a gun. Officers arrived in the area and attempted to stop a vehicle that was leaving. A short pursuit ensued until the suspect was involved in a collision. A loaded gun and a juvenile were located inside the vehicle. The juvenile was uninjured. ARRESTED: Giovanny Mendozapinon, 37, for child abuse, evading, vandalism, DUI, and weapon charges.
