On Sunday April 06, 2025 at approximately 1:50 a.m. a resident in the 20600 block of Elkhart captured an unknown suspect on her surveillance system in her rear yard looking in her bedroom window. The resident called police and officers responded immediately. Harper Woods Police Officers caught the suspect standing on the victim's air conditioning unit looking into the window of an occupied bedroom. The suspect was arrested without incident.
On Monday April 07, 2025 Marquis Dwayne Fleming, a 43 year old Detroit resident, was formally charged and arraigned in 32-A District Court with:
Count 1: Surveilling Unclothed Person
Count 2: Disorderly Person-Window Peeper
Bond was set at $25,000.00 cash, no 10%. If convicted, Fleming faces up to 15 years in prison. Fleming has a Preliminary Examination scheduled for April 23, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. in 32-A District Court. At the time of his arrest, Fleming was on bond and wearing a GPS tether for a similar incident in a neighboring jurisdiction. Detectives are actively investigating similar incidents in Harper Woods that Fleming may be responsible for.
