The following is a synopsis of crimes reported from March 30, 2025 to April 5, 2025.
 
March 30, 2025

•  No significant activity.

March 31, 2025

• Grand Theft Auto:

1500 Crestfield Drive. On March 31, 2025 at approximately 11:34 PM, the supsect(s) unknown stole the victim’s parked vehicle, a grey 2004 RV, from the storage lot. No surveillance video is available.

April 1, 2025

• Petty Theft:

1500 Duarte Road. On April 1, 2025 at approximately 11:34 PM, in the City of Hope parking lot, a male exited his vehicle and stole the victim’s tire from her vehicle. Deputies were able to obtain video surveillance and get the suspect's license plate to the vehicle. 
 
April 2, 2025

• Petty Theft (Shoplifting):

1050 Huntington Drive. (Target). On April 2, 2025 at 2:30 PM, the suspect concealed merchandise from the store and failed to pay for the items. The suspect was detained and arrested at the location by responding Deputies. 
 
April 3, 2025

• No significant activity.

 
April 4, 2025

• Grand Theft Auto:

1866 Citrus View Avenue. Between 1 AM and 4 AM on April 4, 2025, the suspect(s) unknown stole the victim's parked vehicle, a Chevy Camaro. The victim’s vehicle was recovered later the same day by CHP. One suspect is in custody.
 
April 5, 2025

• Grand Theft Auto:

813 Edie Drive. Between 3 PM on April 4, 2025 and 6 AM on April 5, 2025, the suspect(s) unknown stole the victim's parked vehicle, a black 2023 Infiniti. No surveillance video is available.
 

•  Grand Theft Auto:

2222 Huntington Drive. Between 4:30 PM on April 3, 2025 and 9:55 AM on April 5, 2025, the suspect(s) unknown stole the victim’s parked vehicle, a black 1995 Honda Accord. No surveillance video is available
 

• Grand Theft Auto:

2413 Bashor Street. Between 1:43 AM and 4:54 AM on April 5, 2025, the suspect(s) unknown stole the victim’s parked vehicle, a black 2017 Infinity Q50. No surveillance video is available.
 

• Petty Theft:

1540 Second Street. Between 11:20 AM and 12 PM on April 5, 2025, the suspect(s) unknown stole the victim’s segway that he left out on the street near the curb. No surveillance video is available.
  The following information can help you avoid becoming a victim of vehicle theft:

• Keep your guard up. You don’t have to own a new, expensive vehicle to be a victim of vehicle theft.
• If you have a garage, use it.
• Don’t leave your car running and unattended, even for just a minute, to dash into a store or business. Not only is it not safe, but it’s also illegal.
• Don’t leave the keys in the ignition or a “hide-away” box concealed on the vehicle.
• Close the windows entirely and lock the doors when parking the vehicle.
• Don’t leave items of value in plain view.
• Park in high-traffic, well-lighted areas.
• Install a device that locks the steering wheel, steering column, or brakes.
• Install an anti-theft alarm system.
• Install a concealed ignition or fuel “kill switch” that prevents your vehicle from being started.
• Do not keep the title to your vehicle inside the vehicle.
• Be alert for people who are lingering or casually walking around a parking lot.
• Be proactive and watch out for the other person. If you see something or someone suspicious, call the police immediately.
