Mayor David R. Mayer, Chief of Police David Harkins, and member Gloucester Township Day Scholarship Committee held a press conference to discuss the GT Day Scholarship Committee’s recent announcement to postpone the 2025’s Gloucester Township Day celebration.
The Gloucester Township Day Scholarship Committee, in partnership with the Gloucester Township Police Department, has announced the postponement of the 2025 Gloucester Township Day celebration, originally scheduled for June 7. While the event is a beloved tradition that raises critical funds to support college-bound high school seniors, the decision to postpone follows credible safety concerns stemming from social media threats and disruptive behavior witnessed at the conclusion of the 2024 event.
