Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspect, who stole a victim’s electric bike on April 2, 2025.
At approximately 10 a.m., the victim parked his bike, unsecured, in front of Great Oaks Elementary School, located in the 300 block of South 9th Street. While the victim was inside the school, surveillance video captured the suspect wearing all black clothing and riding a black bike to the front of the school at approximately 11:11 a.m. He put his bike down and took the victim’s bike, riding away northbound on South 9th Street with another man who rode the bike he used to arrive at the school.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
