INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Central Road / Walpi Road, Apple Valley, CA
VEHICLE 1: Black 2013, Dodge Charger
DRIVER: Jimmy Terriquez, 32-year-old, Resident of Victorville (Deceased)
PASSENGER: Male Juvenile (Deceased - Identification Pending Confirmation and Next of Kin Notification)
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at approximately 12:01 a.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station observed a reckless driver. Deputies lost visual of the vehicle, a black 2013, Dodge Charger, and conducted an area check. The vehicle was located a short time later and had crashed into an Edison pole on Central Road, south of Walpi Road.
Through investigation, deputies determined the vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Jimmy Terriquez, traveled northbound on Central Road approaching Walpi Road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into an Edison pole, which caused significant damage to the pole.
The driver and passenger suffered major injuries. Both occupants succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
An investigator from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) arrived and is conducting an investigation. Central Road north and southbound lanes were closed between the intersections of Waalew Road and El Centro Road for approximately six hours while deputies processed the scene for evidence and attempted to locate witnesses. Central Road between Waalew Road and El Centro Road will remain closed by Edison while their crews replace and repair the damaged power pole.
