Arrest Warrant Issued for Newark Man Wanted for Eluding
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. reports that an arrest warrant has been issued for Elijah P. Oliver, 31, of Newark, who is wanted for eluding when he fled from police on a stolen motorcycle on April 5, 2025.
A police officer on patrol saw a male, later identified as Oliver, riding the motorcycle at approximately 11:15 p.m. in the 500 block of Elizabeth Avenue. When Oliver stopped at a gas station in the 500 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue, the officer attempted a traffic stop, requesting his license and registration.
He handed over the license, but as the officer checked out the credentials, Oliver fled on the motorcycle, which had been reported stolen in Newark on April 3, 2025.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on Oliver’s whereabouts to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877- 695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
