Fatal Vehicle Collision
Union City, CA – On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, Union City Police Officers responded to the area of Dyer Street and Cabello Street to investigate two major traffic collisions. The first collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. After the collision between the vehicle and the pedestrian occurred, it appears that the driver exited their vehicle to check on the welfare of the pedestrian. While outside the vehicle, both the pedestrian and the driver of the vehicle were struck by another on-coming vehicle.
Upon arrival, Officers located the pedestrian (adult female) and the driver (adult male) of the first vehicle and both suffering from major injuries. Officers began administering aid. Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The male driver was transported to a local hospital, and he appears to be in stable condition.
The driver of the second vehicle (adult female) remained at the scene of the collision and cooperated with the investigation. The drivers of the vehicles did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Union City Police Department understands that this is a tragic incident for everyone involved and would like to express our condolences to the families impacted by this incident.
