Press Release - Culver City Police Department Reclaims
Title at Baker to Vegas Relay
The Culver City Police Department (CCPD) is proud to announce that our dedicated running team has claimed victory in our category at the prestigious Baker to Vegas relay, successfully reclaiming our title! Against all odds, including challenging sandstorms and a grueling 120-mile course, our team finished 1st place in the 150 division and 20th overall, setting 5 new CCPD leg time records.
“I am extremely proud of our team,” said Team Captain Sergeant John Ogden. “Their unwavering commitment, discipline, and teamwork were clearly demonstrated throughout this incredibly demanding race. We are glad that the title is back with us in Culver City.”
This achievement underscores the CCPD’s ongoing commitment to fitness as a cornerstone of our service. By cultivating physical fitness among our officers, we ensure that we are always prepared to provide our community with the highest quality of service.
Police Chief Jason Sims added, “I am incredibly proud of our team’s accomplishment at Baker to Vegas. The team’s resilience and camaraderie exemplify the spirit of the Culver City Police Department. This event highlights our emphasis on maintaining mental and physical wellness within our department, ultimately benefiting the community we serve.”
The Culver City Police Department extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported the team on this journey, including all our volunteers, Culver City Mayor Dan O’Brien, and the Culver City Council. A special thank you to our sponsors, including Trader Joe’s, Target, Exotic Car Wrap, A&D Race Prep, Kali Kustoms Inc., Two Palms Tactical, LAPFCU, George Chevrolet, EF Transportation Systems and Resorts World.
