*UPD* #LASD Homicide Inv. Assisted El Monte PD with Officer Involved Shooting, 10000 blk Bodger St, #ElMonte
LASD Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into an Officer Involved Shooting which occurred in the 10000 block of Bodger Street in the city of El Monte, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
El Monte Police Department officers responded to a call for service of an individual threatening neighbors with a knife. When officers arrived on scene, they located the suspect armed with a knife and gave him numerous verbal commands to drop the weapon.
The suspect failed to comply with the officers’ commands and rushed towards the officers at which time an officer involved shooting occurred.
The suspect was struck by gunfire and transported to a local area hospital where he was treated and released to the custody of El Monte Police Department.
The suspect was placed under arrest for Attempt Murder of a Peace Officer and booked at El Monte Police station.
The knife was recovered at the scene. No officers were injured during the incident.
The LA County District Attorney’s Office Justice System Integrity Division responded and will conduct its own independent investigation.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are assisting El Monte Police Department with the investigation in the circumstances surrounding an officer-involved shooting. The incident occurred on the 10000 block of Bodger Avenue in the city of El Monte, April 9, 2025, at approximately 10:52 p.m.
The suspect was struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles County Fire, his condition is unknown at this time.
No officers were injured during the incident.
