Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
 
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, April 16, 2025
 
- 14th Avenue between Bergen Street and Jones Street
- Hayes Street between 14th Avenue and 15th Avenue
- Bedford Street between 14th Avenue and 15th Avenue
- Bruce Street between South Orange Avenue and 15th Avenue
- Morris Avenue between South Orange Avenue and 15th Avenue
- Hunterdon Street between South Orange Avenue and 15th Avenue 
 
The food drive begins at 11 a.m. and will be held at 14th Avenue and Bruce Street.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
 
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
