Advisory

Winter Weather Advisory until 08:00AM Sunday

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations around 2 to 3 inches. Northerly winds gusting as high as 40-50 mph. Visibilities reduced to one half mile or less at times due to blowing snow.

* WHERE...Pribilof Islands.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 8 AM AKDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility at times.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The worst conditions are likely from very early Saturday morning through early Saturday afternoon as a compact low moves over the Pribilof Islands. However, there is still a question of whether winds will be strong enough to produce sustained periods of visibilities at one-half mile or less on Saturday. Although showers will be less intense after Saturday afternoon, strong northerly winds will persist and may continue to loft snow and reduce visibilities through Sunday morning.

* AFFECTED AREAS: PRIBILOF ISLANDS

Instructions:

Slow down and use caution while traveling.
