ALERT: Mitchell Park Recreation Center will be closed for ADA upgrades starting Thursday, April 17. 
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the DC Department of General Services (DGS) would like to inform the community that the Mitchell Park Recreation Center (1801 23rd Street, NW) will close starting on Thursday, April 17, 2025, for upgrades to make the facility more accessible in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Work includes extensive renovations to the interior and improvements to the ramp to Bancroft Place, NW. Construction vehicles will reserve and utilize spaces along Bancroft Place, NW. The center is estimated to reopen in June 2025.
