Camarillo, California. – On April 11, 2025, a DUI checkpoint was held on Arneill Road north of Ponderosa Drive from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. 1063 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and 715 drivers were contacted. Four people were arrested for various charges, including warrants, reckless driving and DUI offenses during the operation. Two additional drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license. DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads. Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. |
