UCPD’s Community Shred Day – Free & Secure Document Disposal, E- Waste Collection & Food Drive

• Saturday, May 10, 2025
• 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (sharp)
• 11th St. Parking Lot (11th & Galliano, near The Union Flats Apts.)

You're Invited!

Join the Union City Police Department for a free, secure, and eco-friendly shredding and E-Waste collection event. This is a great opportunity to protect your identity, declutter your space, and support our community.

Event Highlights:

• Paper Only – Limit of 6 standard banker boxes per vehicle (12.5" x 10.5" x 16.25")

• Watch Your Documents Shredded On-Site – Ensure your sensitive information is securely destroyed

• Eco-Friendly – All shredded paper will be recycled

• Stress-Free Process – Drive-thru, contact-free service with social distancing measures in place

• Community Support – Bring at least one canned or dry good per box to support local families through Centro De Servicios​

Accepted Items:

• Paper documents with small metal items (paperclips, staples, binder clips)​

Not Accepted:

• Batteries

• Plastic sleeves or paper protectors

• Plastic materials

• 3-ring binders

• CDs, DVDs

• Credit cards

• X-rays

• Cell phones

• Photographs

• Transparencies

• Books​

Who Can Participate:

• Union City residents

• Union City businesses

• Union City employees

• Families of children in the New Haven Unified School District​

Additional Services:

• E-Waste Collection provided by Tri-CED

• Food Drive organized by Centro De Servicios​
