Public Safety Director Miranda Acknowledges Public Safety Telecommunicators and Communications Clerks

In recognition of National Telecommunicators Week, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., extends special thanks to our City’s Public Safety Telecommunicators and Communications Clerks for all they do to keep the City of Newark safe.

On behalf of Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Police Chief Sharonda Morris, Fire Chief Del Ortiz, and the entire Newark Department of Public Safety, we honor each 911 operator for working alongside Newark Police, Firefighters, and members of the Office of Emergency Management as our first response colleagues.

Although these dedicated first responders serve behind the scenes, they are often the initial point of contact when someone is facing a life-or-death incident.

We vigorously applaud each Newark Public Safety Telecommunicator and Communications Clerk for serving in a critically sensitive and often highly stressful environment that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thank you for your precise attention to detail in accurately gathering essential incident information and immediately relaying that information to the appropriate emergency response team.

We salute you for your faithful commitment to facilitating crucial life-saving services on behalf of Newark residents and visitors. #newarknj #publicsafety #police #firefighters #community #partnership #newjersey #911 #operator #thankyou
