Police Seek Help Identifying School Burglary Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a school burglary on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
At approximately 1:50 a.m., the suspect climbed the fence at the Washington Place Courtyard of North Star Academy, at 13 Central Avenue, and entered the building through a side alley door. Once inside, the suspect entered a room and remained there until 2:50 a.m. He then attempted to break into the school’s main office, but was unsuccessful. The suspect then broke into two other offices, one of which housed a safe. He was unable to break into the safe and left with unidentified school property by exiting through the Washington Place emergency exit.
