The city of Merriam Woods had a recent election where the positions of Mayor, Alderman Ward 1 (one position), Alderman Ward 2 (one positon), and Alderman Ward 3 (one position); were all up for contest in the current election.

The results were:  We retained the Mayor to still be: David Casaletto; we also retained Ward 2 (one position): Anthony Clark; and Ward 3 after consultation and research, retained Ward 3 Alderman: Rhonda Shelton.

Still available though is one seat serving WARD 1. Currently, we have two citizens who has come forward to be considered for appointment to serve the Ward 1 seat.  IF YOU HAVE ANY DESIRE TO SERVE AS ALDERMAN AND HAVE SAY IN THE CITY'S LEGISLATION AND DIRECTION, NOW IS YOUR CHANCE.

To be considered for appointment, contact City Clerk Patrick Hunter at City Hall:  417-561-4341 to be put on the list for consideration. The deadline to be added to the consideration list is May 1, 2025.  To qualify for appointment on the Board of Alderman you must:  Be a resident of Merriam Woods (from any Ward for appointment), be a U.S. Citizen, and by background check, you must not be in arrears on Federal or State Taxes or be an active Felon.
