SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING IN EFFECT FOR CARTER COUNTY UNTIL 11:00 PM 4/18/2025.

 

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southeastern Jefferson County in southern Oklahoma...
  Love County in southern Oklahoma...
  South central Carter County in southern Oklahoma...

* Until 1100 PM CDT.

* At 1011 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Lake Nocona,
  moving northeast at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 
           considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to 
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Marietta, Lone Grove, Leon, Rubottom, Burneyville, Courtney, and
  Petersburg.

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect for the warned area.
