* At 201 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Galena, or 8 miles northeast of Baxter Springs, moving northeast at 55 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include... Purcell, Asbury, Carytown, Webb City, Riverton, Brooklyn Heights, Lawton, Oakland Park, Joplin, Oronogo, Alba, Lowell, Carl Junction, Galena, Airport Drive, Carterville, Crestline, Neck City, Waco, and Baxter Springs. This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 41 and 45.
