Narrative:
Five suspects were arrested after participating in a gang-related assault, in which one of the suspects produced a sharp-edged weapon, causing bodily injury to three victims.

On the evening of April 17th, 2025, Thousand Oaks patrol deputies responded to a call for service in the 400 block of N. Moorpark Road, regarding an assault occurring inside a business open to the public. Patrol deputies and detectives arrived and learned one victim ran into the business, with five suspects chasing closely behind.  Once inside the business, the suspects assaulted the victim before fleeing.  One suspect produced a sharp-edged weapon during the attack and caused injury to the victim, a suspect involved in the assault, as well as an employee of the business who attempted to intervene.  All victims were treated at a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives with the East County Special Enforcement Unit and Major Crimes Investigations Unit responded to the scene and were able to identify suspects through investigative resources.  On April 18th, 2025, Detectives contacted Jeremy Platz and a male juvenile in the 200 block of E. Wilbur

Road.  Both fled on foot from detectives but were located and arrested in the immediate area for their involvement in the assault.  Later that same date, detectives contacted and arrested Lima at his residence, where a subsequent search pursuant to a search warrant revealed significant evidence related to the assault.  Two additional male juveniles were also located and arrested shortly after.  All suspects are documented members of a local criminal street gang.

Platz and Lima were booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on charges of 245(a)(4)PC –  Assault with Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury, 182(a)(1)PC –  Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, and 186.22(a)PC – Street Terrorism.  Both remain in custody with a bail amount of $500,000.  The male juvenile suspects were booked into the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center on similar charges, with a court date pending.
