Areas of dense fog...reducing visibility to 1/4 mile or less have developed across the foothills and portions of the mountains of the Carolinas and northeast Georgia. Motorists traveling along roads and highways heading into or out of the mountains... including I-40 through western North Carolina...I-85 through upstate South Carolina...and I-26 between Spartanburg and the North Carolina mountains should prepare for sudden deterioration in visibility. Slow down and allow for plenty of space between yourself and other vehicles. If the fog persists, a Dense Fog Advisory may be issued for all or a part of this area.
