Barnegat remains safe from the immediate threat of fire. Power companies indicate power will be restored sporadically throughout the day.

Good morning, Barnegat! We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to The NJ Forest Fire Service, Barnegat Fire Department, and all surrounding fire companies for their incredible efforts throughout the night. Due to their hard work, our town remains safe from the immediate threat of fire. Crews are still actively working to suppress any remaining fires to the north of our community. We remain diligent and continue to monitor the situation from the Jones Road Fire Incident Command Post.

We appreciate everyone's patience and caution on our roadways as our officers continue to direct traffic at controlled intersections. Conversations with the power companies indicate that power will be restored sporadically throughout the day.
We are so fortunate to be safe and to live in such a resilient and caring community. Thank you, Barnegat residents, for your cooperation and support during this time. Stay safe, and let's continue to look out for one another.
