DETAILS:On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 7:31PM, officers were called to Benton Park, 1401 S. Vernon on a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found a male victim had been shot and began performing first aid on the victim until they were relieved by paramedics. The victim, Ethan DeLeon, 18, died at the scene. Officers learned Ethan was shot inside his vehicle still on the scene. APD Homicide responded. From their investigation, it was discovered a 13-year-old male was the shooter. He has been arrested and booked in the Youth Center of the High Plains on the Murder. This incident is still under investigation.
