Narrative:

Thousand Oaks, California, On April 18th, 2025, a DUI/ Driver’s License Checkpoint was held at Avenida De Los Arboles at Kensington Avenue from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM. A total of 612 drivers were contacted. Four drivers were cited for operating a vehicle with license violations and two other drivers were cited for miscellaneous vehicle code violations. One driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and areas of high traffic accident occurrences. The primary purpose of a DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads. Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
