LOCATION: Foothill Boulevard / Haven Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT(S): Dominic Eddie Ornelas, age 22, resident of Rancho Cucamonga
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, April 21, 2025, at 8:21 P.M., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station conducted a vehicle check, near Foothill Boulevard and Haven Avenue, on a black Kia sedan registered out of Rancho Cucamonga.
While speaking with the occupants in the vehicle, deputies saw a nitrous oxide tank inside the vehicle. Through investigation, deputies learned the occupants were inhaling the gas. Deputies searched the vehicle and located a loaded 9MM handgun concealed in a black bag on the front passenger floorboard. The passenger was identified as Dominic Eddie Ornelas and found his California Driver's License inside the same bag.
Ornelas was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC5400(A)(1)-Carry a concealed Weapon in a Vehicle, PC25850(A)- Carry a Loaded Firearm in a Public Place, and PC25850(C)(6)-Carry a Loaded Gun not the Owner.
