Man Dies at the Hospital after He Stabbed Himself at a Home in Rancho Cucamonga

LOCATION: 6800 Block of Cameo Street, Rancho Cucamonga
DECEDENT: Hunter Barry, 25-years-old, Resident of Rancho Cucamonga
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 3:42 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a residence on Cameo Street, in Rancho Cucamonga, for a man who stabbed himself. Deputies arrived at the location and found Hunter Barry in the backyard of the residence, suffering from multiple self-inflicted stab wounds to the neck area. When deputies attempted to contact Barry, he ran away. Deputies pursued him, detained him, and handcuffed him. Deputies immediately provided medical aid until Rancho Cucamonga Fire personnel took over. Barry was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division was notified and assumed the investigation. An autopsy will be done to determine a manner and cause of death.
