Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
 
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, April 30, 2025
 
- Summer Avenue between Delavan Avenue and Heller Parkway
- Elwood Avenue between Woodside Avenue and Lincoln Avenue
- Elwood Place between Lincoln Avenue and Summer Avenue
 
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at Summer Avenue and Elwood Avenue.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
 
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
