Mayor's Statement regarding Police Chief allegations 
Police Chief Scott Tamagny has been engaged in ongoing litigation some details of which have recently been made public. The Borough of Leonia doesn’t comment on private litigation.
To the extent this litigation affects Leonia by casting aspersions on the Chief’s ability to perform his job we are, of course, involved.
In this case, please be assured these unsavory allegations have been investigated by multiple independent law enforcement agencies outside of the Borough of Leonia. No charges have been brought as a result of these investigations.
Please let's not rush to judgment or impugn anyone's character based on allegations whose intent may be to harm the Chief's good reputation and influence an ongoing legal case.
