Police Seek Help Identifying Shooting Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., Police responded to the 300 block of South 11th Street on a call of shots fired. Responding officers located a spent shell casing on the sidewalk and observed a window shattered by gunfire in a first-floor residence. No injuries have been reported, but concerned citizens reported that two males, who had been riding e-bikes, fled the scene by jumping a fence and running through a backyard after a male suspect took out a firearm and shot at them.
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as having a thin build with short braided hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray and black Nike sweatpants, and black and gray sneakers.
