Meth Found on Morganton Man During Traffic Stop
Detective Matt Smith with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged Jesse Aaron Mathis, 32, of Morganton with the following:
• felony Possession of Methamphetamine
• Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana (up to ½ ounce)
• Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
• Misdemeanor Carrying a Concealed Gun
He was given a secured bond of $12,000.
On April 19, Detective Matt Smith initiated a stop on a motorcycle in the Nebo Community for a traffic violation.
A subsequent search of Mathis by detectives turned up a suspected amount of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a handgun.
