Deputies Respond to Emergency Call at a High School and Determine a False Report was Made by a Juvenile

INCIDENT: Report of False Emergency
LOCATION: Bloomington High School, 10750 Laurel Avenue, Bloomington
SUSPECT: 14-year-old male student
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, Sheriff’s Dispatch received a report of a shooting at Bloomington High School. The assigned School Resource Officer was on campus at the time of the call, did not hear any gunshots, and immediately investigated, along with school personnel. Out of caution, staff and students were directed to shelter in place while deputies investigated. Deputies did not locate any evidence of a shooting and determined the report was not credible.
Through investigation, deputies determined a 14-year-old male student’s cellular phone was used to place the false emergency call. False emergencies are serious matters and will be fully investigated to the extent the law allows.
Deputies remain on campus working closely with Colton Joint Unified School District staff and the investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be provided when it becomes available.
