INCIDENT: Vehicle vs Motorcycle Traffic Crash
LOCATION: Mohawk Rd / Cibola Rd, Apple Valley, CA
SUMMARY: On Monday, April 28, 2025, at approximately 7:32 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station and rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department responded to a traffic crash involving a vehicle and motorcycle. The crash occurred on Mohawk Road, south of Cibola Road, in the town of Apple Valley. Through investigation, deputies determined a Toyota 4Runner was northbound on Mohawk Road when a Honda CRF50F motorcycle pulled out of a driveway to turn south onto Mohawk Road. The Toyota swerved to the west to avoid the motorcycle and crossed over the traffic lanes. The Toyota and motorcycle collided. The motorcycle driver was ejected during the collision.
The motorcycle driver sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) arrived and are investigating the crash. Northbound Mohawk Road, between Cibola Road and Chimayo Road, was closed for about 2 hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence.
