Congratulations to our newest Fremont Fire Department Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) graduates!
On Sunday, April 27, 2025, 23 community members graduated from the first CERT Basic Training Academy since 2019.
The graduates, representing different neighborhoods throughout Fremont, completed 20 hours of training that included personal preparedness, small fire suppression, utility control, basic disaster medicine, and light search-and-rescue. Utilizing both classroom and hands-on skills training by Fremont firefighters, CERT members developed the ability to help others at home and in their neighborhood following a major earthquake or other emergency when professional first responders are not immediately available to assist.
